Personal Injury
How can I help you with...?
If you have caused or otherwise are responsible for an accident – perhaps because, for example, you are an employer and one of your employees has been injured at work – we can advise you with regard to a possible line of defence, or otherwise may be able to raise an argument that the injured party was partly to blame (contributory negligence) to reduce the amount of compensation you may have to pay. We can advise you as to the level of appropriate compensation.
If you have been injured in an accident, we can liaise with the responsible party so that you are paid compensation.
This is split into two types of compensation: the first is General Damages, which is compensation for pain, suffering and "loss of amenity" - not doing the things you can usually do, whether it is buttoning up a shirt, playing which children or grandchildren, or taking part in a sporting event or other hobby.
The second type of compensation is Special Damages: This is to reimburse you for travel and parking expenses, precription or other medication costs, loss of earnings now and in the future.
It may be, for example, that you have slipped or tripped on a dangerous surface in the street or in a shop; you may have been injured in an accident at work or school; or you may have been hurt in a car crash.
If the insurers will not agree to pay adequate compensation, we will issue court proceedings and continue to negotiate on your behalf.
In appropriate circumstances, we may agree to take on your case under a conditional fee agreement (commonly known as "no win no fee"). Please contact us for full deatils. We will be able to assist you to take out an after-the-event insurance policy.
